Taco Bell Canada touts Mexican Pizza using ChatGPT review

Vaughan, Ont. – Taco Bell Canada is putting Mexican Pizza back on its menu and promoting it by using ChatGPT to write its own review of the pizza.

Mexican Pizza features seasoned beef or refried beans (for a vegetarian-friendly option) between two tortilla shells, topped with sauce, tomatoes and a three-cheese blend.

The AI-generated review reads, in part:

“Taco Bell’s Mexican Pizza is a delicious and satisfying fast food option that offers a unique twist on the classic pizza dish. The pizza features a crispy, golden-brown crust that is loaded with flavorful and spicy beef, tangy and creamy sauce, diced tomatoes, and a blend of melty cheese”

“We heard our fans and are excited to bring Mexican Pizza back to Canada,” said Rohit Sharma, senior marketing manager at Taco Bell Canada. “ChatGPT (a natural language processing tool developed by OpenAI) is having a moment in the cultural zeitgeist, and the idea of using the tool to review our own cult menu item seemed like a fun opportunity.”
